Free Pedicab Rides Add to August First Thursday Festivities at Hoyt Realty Group

Focusing on car-free transportation options for Pearl District visitors and residents, Hoyt Street Properties is partnering with Portland Rose Pedals Pedicab and PDX Pedicab on First Thursday, August 2nd, to give guests a fun-filled option for touring the area: free pedicab rides. Pedicabs, or bike taxis, offer a fun, open-air solution to car cabs while providing a rest for pedestrians’ feet amidst an evening of art and happy hour hopping. Hoyt is excited to team with Portland’s premier pedicab companies, which are working hard to bring a creative, eco-friendly transportation solution to the people of Portland.

“The Pearl District was designed to integrate and accommodate car-free transportation for those who prefer it, and pedicabs are a fun, easy way to navigate the neighborhood on First Thursday,” said Tiffany Sweitzer, President and CEO at Hoyt Street Properties. “We hope that many guests enjoy the free rides this First Thursday, and that residents continue to consider the pedicab option as they live and play in The Pearl.”

When: First Thursday, August 2nd, 2007, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Where: Guests interested in pedicab rides should sign in at the reception area of the Hoyt Realty Group First Thursday art reception (1130 NW 10th Avenue, Portland, OR 97209, 503.227.2000). Riders are advised to sign in early, as the free pedicab tours are expected to fill up quickly.

Ride route: The pedicabs will take guests on a tour of the Northern Pearl District, passing the site of the much-anticipated planned park, The Fields, and The Encore, Hoyt’s newest mixed-use urban renewal project.
